The Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris will open its doors on September 22 to welcome the best of the football world, while players, head coaches and managers meet to celebrate the Ballon d'Or Award -Ceremony of 2025.
For the 69th edition of the prize -giving ceremony, founders France Football prepare for an event that celebrates best in the game on the basis of versions during the season, from 1 August 2024 to 31 July 2025.
Individual and team performances, performance together with class and fair play are the most important criteria used by an international jury of 100 specialized journalists when voting for the best players.
In the course of the evening, various prizes will be awarded (including the first ladies Kopa and Ladies Yashin trophies) and this year's ceremony will miss two key names for the second time in a decade, since neither Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo (with eight and five wins respectively) are recorded for the season. Interestingly, neither of them last year's winner, the Spanish midfielder of Man City Rodri, was injured most of the period.
The most important contenders for the men's price are: Ousmane Dembélé, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Désiré Doué, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Kylian Mbappé, Lautaro Martínez, Pedri, Raphinha, Mohamed Salah and Lamine Yamal.
