Steve Erceg reveals why recent losses have been a ‘dream come true’ despite admitting his UFC future may be on the line

Prior to his upcoming return to UFC Vegas 109, Steve Erceg had to overcome many obstacles.

EERCEG was originally planned to be confronted with Alex Perez and was then booked to Hyun Sung Park after an injury that canceled the matchup.

The former UFC title Challenger has left in its last three trips against some of the best hunters in the division, making his next outing incredibly important.

Unfortunately for him, Park was then placed in the main event of last weekend against Tatsuro Taira, which means that ERCEG still had a new opponent to face.

His collision with Ode Osbourne on August 9 is still incredibly important to him, but that does not mean that his recent defeats have not offered positives.

Steve Erceg reflects on how being able to check 'dream' fights has been a positive result of his difficult results of results

In anticipation of UFC Vegas 109, Steve Erceg admitted that his UFC contract can be at stake if he tries to bounce back from a heavy series of results.

Although his current form may not look impressive on paper, his two fights with the current champion Alexandre Pantoja and the former champion Brandon Moreno were both very competitive.

Erceg was catapulted directly to the top of the division when he received a title shot on UFC 301 last year, which means that he has achieved a lot in his career in just six fights.

'Astro Boy' spoke about this in a recently exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow, where he thought about the positive points he was able to take from these defeats.

In addition to the feeling that he has been able to prove that he can compete with the best boys in the division, Erceg said that he could compete in some iconic locations in some iconic locations in a short time.

“The positive points are, I have to fight against everyone's dream fights like immediately. It is a dream come true and the negatives are I lost, but I don't think you can base everything on victories and losing. I have to have some pretty cool experiences and live a number of quite cool things and learn a lot about myself.

“I mean, I fought in more Co-Main events and main events than I have another place on the map that is crazy to think about, so I certainly feel more blessed than anything.”

Steve Erceg mentions two more dreams that he wants to check in in the Flyweight Division of the UFC

Although Steve Erceg has already checked a number of large bucket list moments in his UFC career, there are still a few dreams left.

The main objective would of course be to work back to a title shot and to become the flight weight champion on the second time to ask, but the flight weight also has two locations in mind.

Although it is not uncommon for hunters to have the chance to compete in Japan given the history of the martial arts associated with the country, Erceg also wants a piece of what is likely to be the largest UFC event of all time.

“I don't have a person so much, but there are two places that I would like to fight, what the White House would be, so I have to get some bad blood with an American guy, and then Japan. That would also be a dream.”
