Manchester United could jump for Gianluigi Donnarumma while Paris Saint -Germain chases a younger keeper – but the Italian has a little history against the Red Devils
The hope of Manchester United to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma remains alive, and he was able to participate in a handful of members of the team who ended his hope for a farewell trophy with AC Milan. The Italian keeper left the Rossoneri in the summer of 2021, a few months after the loss of United in the Europa League.
Four years after that competition, Donnarumma is linked to a United Switch – and not for the first time. His current club Paris Saint-Germain is said to have a deal for Lille keeper Lucas Chevalier, and it is still to see whether their current number 1 will stay and fight for his place.
It was in 2017 that United was previously connected, only for the Italian to extend his stay in Milan. However, when United took over in Milan from Donnarumma in March 2021, that deal had entered its last year without signs of an extension.
At the time of the first stage in Old Trafford, the Milan of Stefano Pioli had renounced first place in February, including a loss of 3-0 derby for Inter. United was also in second place, but with a little more momentum, in the first stage came after winning their own derby.
It was another case in Europe, where United de Europa League had fallen in Europe after being third in their group under PSG and RB Leipzig. But they came at the top of Donnarumma and his teammates.

A fourth current United player got minutes against them that day, with Diogo Dalot playing against his parent club during a loan from Milan and played the last 25 minutes.
However, it was one of United's subs scored the winner. Records sign Paul Pogba came for Rashford during the break and lasted less than three minutes to score the only goal of the draw.
Dean Henderson, not Donnarumma, who made an important contribution in that second stage. His large late stop denied former united star Zlatan Ibrahimovic and made sure that the Red Devils made it.
They made them all the way to the final, eventually lost against Villarreal and took second place in the competition. Milan finished second in Italy and Donnarumma decided it was time for a move after winning Euro 2020 with the Azzurri.
Four years later, Donnarumma's next step could take him to Old Trafford. There will be no European football available for him this period, thanks to another Europa League defeat for United, but he has the chance to leave Paris as a Champions League winner before taking on a new challenge.
