Conor McGregor’s involvement in ‘Road House 2’ uncertain as WWE legend set to star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal

Conor McGregor still has to be confirmed for the upcoming sequel to Road House, but another large star with fighting experience.

McGregor made his name in the Octagon, where he became the very first simultaneous double champion of the UFC. But the Irishman has not fought in the cage for more than four years. The former lightweight and featherweight title holder appeared for the last time in the main event of UFC 264, with his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier. McGregor broke his leg at the end of the round and marked his second defeat against 'The Diamond' that calendar year.

Since then, McGregor is focused on companies away from his UFC career, including his pub in Ireland, a partial property of the BKFC and acting debut in Road House.

The remake of the classic of the same name from 1989 was released on Amazon Prime Video in 2024 and is one of the most successful films in the company of all time, which attracts 80 million viewers worldwide in the first eight weeks.

A sequel is now set, but can it be McGregor-Minder?

Dave Bautista announced for Road House 2 while Conor McGregor is not confirmed

McGregor's involvement in the remake of the Weghuis attracted a lot of attention, especially after scenes were filmed during UFC 285, a pay-per-view from 2023 with head by Jones' heavy-weight win against Ciryl Gane.

The Irishman played 'Knox', an enforcer that was hired to detect 'Elwood Dalton', played an ex-PUC hunter by Jake Gyllenhaal who takes on a job as a bouncer in a Florida Keys Road House.

After Gyllenhaal had shown interest in a follow -up, it was officially announced in May 2024. Details have now started to arise, including the addition of one name known to combat sport fans and the absence of another.

Although the status of McGregor remains unconfirmed, Deadline reports that Dave Bautista is taking a deal this year to close a deal to join the Gyllenhaal -Starer. Bautista has forged an incredibly successful acting career since he is known as a pro -roarer in WWE, in particular appears in the dune and guardians of the Galaxy franchises.

The 56-year-old also has a only professional fight on his record. After leaving WWE, Bautista made his MMA debut on CES MMA: real pain in 2012, where Vince Lucero was defeated via TKO in the first round.

Conor McGregor will be disappointed if 'Road House 2' continues without him

If McGregor is in the dark about a potential role in the sequel to Road House like the public, he may be worried in view of the plea he had returned earlier this year.

McGregor insisted that he had to be in the film last June, even and even claims that it is “nothing” without his character.

“Roadhouse is nothing without big, bad” Knox, “says them,” wrote McGregor on X.

“And if you haven't looked at it yet, catch it on @primeVideo now 'Roadhouse' FT McGregor as Knox and Jake Gyllenhaal as 'Dalton' Reimagining of the iconic Patrick Swayze Classic!”
