Ciryl Gane will be on the sidelines for quite a long period after UFC 310.
The former interim heavyweight champion left the Octagon on Saturday night after a highly controversial split-decision victory over Alexander Volkov at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
'Bon Gamin' eventually returned to the cage to conduct his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.
Ciryl Gane told the UFC legend that he broke his toe early in the fight. Two days later, he revealed on social media that he actually fought through a much more serious injury at UFC 310.

Ciryl Gane reveals full extent of UFC 310 injury
On Monday morning, Ciryl Gane shared a foot X-ray that showed he had three broken bones.
The Frenchman highlighted the three toes that collapsed when he kicked his opponent at UFC 310.
He wrote on his Instagram Story: “It wasn't just the push [big toe] but also the two metatarsals that had given way at the beginning of the first round, leaving no foot, but we did not give up and fought with it.”
Gane followed that up with a photo of himself smiling with his thumb in the air, suggesting he's feeling content despite a nasty injury that could keep him out of the gym for a while.
Once he's healed, Gane will likely have just one more win from another title shot, having previously fallen short against Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou.
If Tom Aspinall beats Jones, Gane could be the first challenge to the Englishman's reign.
Alexander Volkov is concerned about the judging of UFC 310
Volkov was furious after suffering what he considered an 'raid' on Gane.
The 6-foot-1 Russian directed an angry tirade at the UFC 310 judges, calling out Adalaide Byrd. who was one of two cage officials to score the fight 29-28 in his opponent's favor.
“Hello everyone, I want to first say that it was absolutely an absolute decision,” Volkov said during his post-fight press conference.
“I don't know what we're going to do with the decision. I am absolutely certain that I won the fight.”
“How can the guy who was less active and comes out with more damage win, I don't understand this,” Volkov continued, with much of the criticism specifically directed at judge Adalaide Byrd, who had the fight 29-28 against the Frenchman.
“Is this the same judge who judges boxing and MMA? I don't understand, this state is the fight capital of the world, I don't know what to say… How is it possible that the same person can judge two different types of sports?
“I don't understand how a person who is not professionally trained in this sport cannot be requalified to judge this sport, or simply cannot be fired.”
“I don't know if she's working on her [judging] skills, or she just comes to watch the fights every now and then because she likes it and give victory wherever she wants… Maybe she liked Ciryl Gane's body more.
“It's the same as in our sport: if you're not professionally fit to fight in the UFC, there's a good chance you'll get fired – and it should be the same for everyone, if you can't do that professionally. it's your job, you shouldn't do it.”
“We will definitely do this [appeal]but I don't believe it will work… If they accept this judge who created this scorecard, they will just fire her and then the decision could change.
