Atletico Madrid set sights on shock move for Manchester United player

Atletico Madrid is on the market for another player who would see them complete their attacking options for the 2025-26 season. A number of goals have been identified after a deal for Enzo Millot came through, and one of the striking trips at Manchester United is one of the notorious trips.

At this stage, Atleti prioritizes a movement for Napoli's Giacomo Raspadori, who agreed with Los Colchoneros. A club-to-club agreement will now be sought with the ruling Serie A champions, and although there is optimism, nothing can be considered as a matter of course after the Millot Saga.

Back -up options have been identified by Atleti, and one of those who have drawn the eye is Jadon Sancho from Man United.

According to Sport1 (via ED), Atleti is interested in signing Sancho, who has been told that he will leave Man United for the end of the summer transfer window. The 25-year-old, who was offered to Barcelona 12 months ago, is also being chased by his former club Borussia Dortmund.

Man United is willing to accept a loan agreement, where their requirements are for a reimbursement of € 5 million to pay as part of this. And although this would address Athleti, there would certainly be concerns about paying a considerable part of the wage of the winger, which are considered very exaggerated.

Moreover, Atleti are currently unable to accommodate Sancho, given that the three non-EU spots in their La Liga team are already filled by the Argentinian duo Thiago Almada and Nahuel Molina, and another Englishman in Conor Gallagher. Nothing of that trio is expected to deviate before the end of the summer, so a deal will almost certainly not come true.
