United has agreed a fee of £ 74 million with the German side, while Sesko flew to Manchester and undergoes a medical club with his new club. At the time of writing, United Sesko's transfer to Old Trafford still has to confirm – but an announcement is not far away. Reports in Italy have claimed that Italian side leaders will fly to the UK to have conversations with their Red Devil colleagues. But Hojlund's position could endanger a deal after he had expressed his wish to stay in Old Trafford.
He said: “I think my plan is very clear and that is for me to keep fighting for my place, whatever happens. I am still very young. I think people sometimes forget. I am only 22. Of course, not every striker scores 100 goals at the age of 22 (like Erling).
“But I learned a lot, I think you can see in my game. I am starting to develop and get even better in the base. Now it is almost for me to grind myself and I have done it very well in the preseason so far. Just concentrate on continuing that.
“The competition is fine for me. It sharpened me. I am more than ready. I feel sharp, so I welcome everything that comes. I think it is good with the competition and it just sharpenes the team.”
