Newcastle -Baas Eddie Howe says that it is clear that Alexander Isak is currently not involved with his team after he has held discussions with the striker, but insists that he still has a future with the club.
Isak was back in the Newcastle facility on Monday morning and had missed their tours for the season and trained away from the rest of the team, as instructed by Howe.
The Magpies rejected an opening offer of £ 110 million plus add-ons from Liverpool on August 1, after Isak told the club that he wanted to explore his options in the transfer window.
Isak was not involved in the penultimate friendly friendly of Newcastle of the summer against Espanyol, a 2-2 draw in which William Osula began in advance, where Howe refused to set a timeline when the Sweden International would return to the first team.
Speaking after the friendly in St James' Park said Howe: “We have had discussions and it is clear that we cannot involve him in the group.
“I don't know how long that will take. It is clear that I cannot involve him in the team right now.
“He trains later than the rest of the team. There have been discussions since the Tour. I don't think disciplinary action happened.
“He is here, so of course he has a future in Newcastle. From our perspective we would like him back to the team, but the situation must be good to make that happen.
“He has no fitness problem. I am aware of a feeling in the team that there is something that is not in favor of the group.”
Isak had previously trained Real Sociedad's head office at his former club, after missing the Newcastle's pre-season tour through Asia.
