The new boy from Manchester City, Tijjani Reijnders, has admitted that he does not mind where he plays under Pep Guardiola after Star Rodri had sustained injury.
The 27-year-old came to City from AC Milan for a reported fee of £ 46.6 million earlier in the summer to help add more depth to their midfield.
City underwent their worst season ever under Guardiola in 2024/25 when their remarkable loss in shape coincided with Rodri's ACL Trane.
Rodri has since picked up an injury and is not expected to return his return to the earliest to September.
Reijnders said with reporters: “In the World Cup club I played three roles in midfield and I want to be a midfielder who can play in all those roles. I want to play where the manager wants to play, I will play and of course I will do my best.”
“We have worked a lot on possession of the ball and what we can do against teams that are in a very low block, for example.
“Also the reaction of when we lose the ball, how quickly we can get it back. In the club World Cup we played some matches together and now in training we got to know each other a little better.
“Of course I see that he has many qualities and that makes it easier for the rest of our midfielders to play next to him.”
