Anthony Hernandez to attend UFC 319
Anthony Hernandez battered Roman Dolidze on the way to a submission victory in the fourth round at UFC Vegas 109 on Saturday evening.
After he had stretched his win row to eight in a row, 'Fluffy' shouted for the winner of Dricus du Persis vs. Khamzat Chimaev to combat.
During his press conference after the fight, Hernandez revealed that the UFC is flying to him for the latest middleweight title fight.
“That's what I hear,” he said when he was asked about the prospect of attending UFC 319.
'I fly to Chicago. So yes, I'll be there.
“I just got that on my back at the moment, that [the UFC] I will fly away.
“So I'm looking forward to it.”
UFC Middleweight rankings
No hunter ever needs more than eight fights in a row to earn a middleweight title shot.
Hernandez, however, still appears a road to Dricus du Plessis or Khamzat Chimaev.
At #10 at the moment he is not expected to record the middleweight ranking when they update on Tuesday.
So, apart from a miracle, Hernandez will have to fight someone in the top five to earn his title shot.
