Real Betis's playmaker Isco broke a shin for the second time, the Sevilla club announced on social media on Sunday.
The 33-year-old former Real Madrid star broke his leg in a friendly against Malaga on Saturday.
The club said that the injury was a “new non-placed break to the middle third part of his left Fibula”.
Isco, who won the Champions League four times during his enchantment at Real Madrid, suffered the same injury in May 2024.
He returned last December and helped Betis to the sixth in La Liga, and the qualification for the Europa League, and she in the Europa Conference League final of the Europa Conference, where they lost 4-1 to Chelsea.
His form earned a recall for the first time since 2019 from the Spanish national team.
He came up as a replacement and scored in the loss of the penalty shootout to Portugal in the Nations League final.
