Jake Paul has received criticism in the past because he has summoned some of the biggest names of Boxing while he continues to climb the ladder.
'The Problem Child' certainly has the star status to put huge battles because of the kind of wallets that would be for picking up, but he has not confronted an opposition on elite level.
What initially looked like a matchup that would not lead anywhere, now seems to have some weight, in which Paul may be confronted against Anthony Joshua after a positive update.
The last statement about this fight, which suggests that it will happen in the near future, has caused a strong response from fans.

Fans respond to Eddie Hearn's latest update about Jake Paul opposite Anthony Joshua
At the end of July, the manager of Jake Paul, Nakisa Bidarian, Sky Sports said that he believes that a fight with Anthony Joshua could happen and that there had already been conversations with boxing the competition.
The next update about this unexpected matchup came a little more than a week later, thanks to Eddie Hearn from Matchrome, who also gave an update through Sky Sports.
Hearn confirmed that there have been conversations with Bidary and most valuable promotions [MVP] They are set to continue.
He also stated that, despite the fact that he is somewhat lost for words when he talks about this fight, he believes that Paul is now in pole position to welcome Joshua back in the ring, which says he thinks that the beginning of 2026 will take place.
“A lot. This bizarre world in which we live, I think Jake Paul is definitely the leader who is now fighting Anthony Joshua. I hear New York about that fight for meetings. There is an open dialogue between myself and Nakisa and MVP. I don't know what to tell you.”

Fans responded to Hearn's latest comments after a clip of the update was placed on social media platforms from Sky Sports, and they were not surprisingly dissatisfied with the prospect that it would happen.

Eddie Hearn warns Jake Paul about the dangers of taking this fight
With many of the reactions to this update that criticizes the matchup, many fans clearly believe that Jake Paul is from his depth and that Anthony Joshua should not entertain this fight.
Eddie Hearn clearly stated that he believes that the whole thing is 'mentally', while he also admits that money talks in boxing.
Hearn also gave a warning to Paul for the dangers when taking this fight and how he will approach it.
“I can't sit here and tell you that this is a matchup of 50:50. The whole thing is bizarre. I think it is extremely dangerous for Jake Paul … If you start thinking that you are going to win, it is even more dangerous.
“I know that this fight breaks all kinds of records and I don't even know what's going on to know that we are even sitting there and negotiating this fight, but I really believe that you're going to see the early 2026 and I don't know what else I can tell you.”
