Mats Hummels’ ex-wife claims he didn’t INVITE son, 7, to farewell match attended by new model girlfriend, 26

Mats Hummels' ex-wife Cathy claims that the defender did not invite his seven-year-old son to his Borussia Dortmund Farewell match.

The German world cup winner took 36 years old after a short stint at Roma.

After playing more than 500 times for Dortmund in three spells, Hummels was invited to his former club to play in a farewell match during the weekend.

The center-back received incredible recognition from the fans of the club when he was shown in Dortmund's 2-1 defeat against Juventus next to their current crop.

Hummels was raised in Signal Iduna Park by model friend Nicola Cavanis, 26.

His ex-wife Cathy and son Ludwig were not present in the game.

The 78-Cap ex-German star split from Cathy in 2022 after seven years of marriage and began to date Nicola the following year.

Cathy, 37, shared a photo of Ludwig next to a newspaper with the photo of his father on it.

She wrote: “Someone stolen my cap and read about Dad's farewell in the newspaper. So he knows what it was like.”

In a further message, Cathy added: “To clarify: we don't intentionally miss the last game of Mats Hummels.

“I have put my son an extra newspaper so that he can read everything.

'The reason we are not there has just disappeared: we were not invited or knew about it.

“We now enjoy our wonderful holiday with the family again.

“See you soon as a question 15. Congratulations on your remarkable career.”

While Hummels was honored, Cathy and Ludwig were about 400 miles away on holiday on Lake Chiemsee.

Nicola is now a successful model and has worked for Victoria's Secret and Puma.
