‘A wounded lion is still a lion’… Charles Oliveira responds to criticism from UFC fans after recent fight announcement

Charles Oliveira is one of the oldest lions that are still close to the top of his division, and despite recent fankritically, he sworn in the UFC again.

Last week the UFC announced that Charles Oliveira would return to the Octagon at UFC Rio de Janeiro in October to hire the favorite of fellow fan, Rafael Fiziev.

The announcement came as a shock to fans, given that 'Do Bronx' received a brutal knockout loss last June when he fought Ilia Topuria on UFC 317.

However, fans are not the only ones who worry about the Brazilian, since UFC legend Daniel Cormier has expressed his worries and has reminded his very first Ko loss ever.

Oliveira responds to fankritics with explanation

Initially, the plan that Oliveira fights against Dan Hooker was fighting in his return to Brazil, but according to 'Do Bronx', Hooker changed the fight.

But that would not stop the 35-year-old from returning to his home country, especially in view of the fact that his last fight in Brazil came under extremely unfortunate circumstances.

And only a week after the announcement of the battle, Oliveira has now published a response to the UFC fan base after criticism of how quickly he returns to action.

“I have never been eliminated in my life. Everything in life has the first time. Unfortunately, mine arrived; I was eliminated by a tough guy,” Oliveira told Agfight.

“I went home, sad, crying, angry. But now, I am really more than ready … Listen carefully to what I'm going to tell you. An injured lion is still a lion. And on October 11 I will show you everything that my story is not over. I am more than alive,” the former champion continued.

Charles Oliveira turned his career after early criticism

This would not be the first time that the Brazilian was bounced back and turned his career. When he ruled as the lightweight champion, Oliveira continuously came from behind in fights to show his championship mentality.

And even before that, when he first led a UFC event against Max Holloway in 2015, he received a decorator after the loss of the fight, and then somehow turned around.
