The Premier League match of Aston Villa against Crystal Palace has been given a bizarre kick -off time – but the reason has now been explained.
The first competition of England starts this week when defending champions Liverpool kicked their campaign against Bournemouth on Anfield on Friday evening.
Aston Villa is now one of the parties that have a more favorable fixture run at the start of the season, but stand for a tough opener at home, the Newcastle – although they will be without Alexander Isak.
In Gameweek Three they will now record Crystal Palace in Villa Park in their second hand match of the season, but the kick -off time and date has changed in Sunday evening.
Instead of the Friday evening for which it was originally set, it now starts 48 hours later. And the reason for this is due to the confirmation of the place of Palace in the Conference League.
After they have lost their appeal because they have been kicked out of the Europa League, the side of Oliver Glasner participates in the third level of Europe and will have to qualify to get there.
Cas -lawyers had promised to give a verdict by playing on Monday. And they then chose the side with the administrative body, in what will be a devastating blow to the FA Cup winners and their fans and a decision that could cost the palace up to £ 20 million in lost income.
It is probably also welcomed in the city area, with the ruling that Nottingham Forest will take the place of Palace.
The Eagles had tried to overthrow their relegation at the expense of Forest of Lyon.
They were dropped in the third level competition after a UEFA panel discovered that the American businessman John Textor, whose Eagles Holdings Company had an interest of 43 percent in the club, was in an influence in Selhurst Park.
His company also owned the French outfit Lyon, which qualified for the same competition. Lyon was given priority, with only one MCO club allowed, because they ended up higher in their domestic competition than FA Cup winners Palace.
As a result of the loss of profession, however, Palace will assume the Palace of Fredrikstad of Norway or Midtjylland van Denmark in the qualifying round.
Those competitions take place early in the season, with the first stage being played on August 21 in Selhurst Park, a Thursday evening. The return bone will be played a week later on August 28.
The fixture was originally also picked for television reporting and it has been confirmed that it will still be shown on Sky Sports – only two days later.
That is why four games on Sky are shown on Sunday, with Brighton vs Manchester City and Nottingham Forest vs West Ham set before 2 p.m. and Liverpool vs Arsenal is planned at 4.30 p.m.
Fans were left with the change. A posted on X: 'moved again !! Is this a kind of joke? '
Another added: 'NOOOOO, I fly from the US and have a ticket for this. I leave the 31st! '
