Manchester United has had a frustrating summer in terms of sale and one of the players they have trouble discharging is Antony. The 25-year-old has had many lovers as a result of his excellent loan at Real Betis during the second half of last season, but despite this a transfer is not sorted.
And it is becoming increasingly clear why this is the case. On various occasions during his time in Andalusia, Antony spoke about how comfortable he felt at Betis, and it is said that he priority gives a return for the 2025-26 campaign. However, Los Verdiblancos has only suggested a loan so far, while Man United wants to sell the Brazilian winger.
Despite this impasse, there is a feeling in betis that they will get their husbands and this was made clear by Natan, who spoke with El Chiringuito (via Ed) about his ex-teammate and countryman.
“Hopefully he can come back and be with us for another year. Yes, he waits and we all wait. I think it's not just me, all betis. I hope he comes. Let's hope, I have hope.”
According to Ed's report, Man United is incredibly frustrated by the lack of movement with regard to the sale of Antony. They are aware that he only wants to become a member of Betis, but they are willing to block a move – and probably they have issued an ultimatum: agree with a club before the new Premier League season starts this weekend, or he will be banned into the winter transfer window.
It will be very interesting to see how things take place with Antony. Betis is still in a good position for now, but if the pressure of Man United pays to the player, they can be left without his signature.
