Barcelona again spends their August reassuring their players that they are registered on time to play, and only have three days to get the green light prior to their first La Liga match against RCD Mallorca. This week they submitted a medical report for the back operation of Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, in an attempt to activate the injury rule.
The German keeper has said earlier that he will be out for about three months, but the information from Barcelona is that the diagnosis is an absence of four to five months. In the case of the first, Barcelona could activate La Liga's injury rule, allowing them to use 50% of his salary limit to register another goalkeeper. In the case of the latter, Barcelona could use up to 80% of Ter Stegen's salary limit space.
Barcelona expected that the process would be fairly simple after submitting the report, given the case as clear. Nevertheless, TV3 explained that concern in Barcelona is growing over the delay of La Liga in the case. They claim that the report was sent last Friday, and they eventually expected the resolution on Tuesday, since things usually last a maximum of 24 hours.
At MD they say that Barcelona eventually expects a decision, and the club regards it as a fact that Joan Garcia will be registered before their collision with Mallorca.
In the meantime, Marcus Rashford is aware that Garcia will be registered for him. The Leenlee of Manchester United is also waiting to be registered, and Marca says that both he and Garcia receive almost daily guarantees that they will be registered, and there is optimism that both will be available against Mallorca. Rashford competes one by a starting berth with Ferran Torres in the absence of Robert Lewandowski.
