Although things have become silent in the Spanish capital in recent weeks, Real Madrid can contain a last blockbuster transfer this summer. Los Blancos is tipped to move for a midfielder, but also another central defender.
During the summer, Real Madrid was associated with Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate. The French defender is from the contract next summer and probably like to move to the Santiago Bernabeu, so far reject all Liverpool renewal offers.
Liverpool is currently in negotiations on Crystal Palace and England defender Marc Guehi, who regard some of a movement for a replacement. Marca says that Liverpool will soon make a final contract offer to Konate, and if he does not accept it, they will offer him for sale. They are desperate to prevent him from losing cheaply, as happened with Trent Alexander-Arnold.
On Thursday Los Blancos presents their fourth signing of the summer in Franco Mastantuono. However, the Argentinian teenager will initially be registered with Real Madrid Castilla, leaving an extra space in their 25-man team in the case of another arrival.
In the meantime, “make” a movement for Konate as soon as Liverpool completes the signing of Guehi. It is said that they are € 6 million too short of the asking price of Palace, but the problem is expected to be solved.
Previous reports have suggested that Liverpool would demand a transfer costs of € 50 million in exchange for Konate, despite his contract situation. Los Blancos is likely to try to pay for that compensation, with their intention not to spend more than € 20-25 million. A final reimbursement can depend on the competition, while the time in the Liverpool window taps to obtain a sale.
