The midfielder of Manchester City Sverre Nypan is in conversation about a loan movement to Middlesbrough.
The championship side is also in discussion to sign Metz Winger Cheikh Sabaly and still add a striker.
Norway International Nypan came to City from Rosenborg in June for a fee of £ 12.5 million. He was previously praised by Arsenal and Aston Villa, while a loan to Girona had also been brought in.
City, however, wants the 18-year-old to receive regular playing time in a competitive competition and believes that he will benefit from playing under Rob Edwards in the championship.
Another deal has to be reached, but the negotiations have been positive.
Boro wants to further strengthen and held conversations with Metz for Sabaly. The 26-year-old Senegal International scored 15 goals in 37 games last season.
However, the appreciation of Metz is still higher than what Boro has reserved and conversations are in the balance.
