Manchester City Striker Erling Haaland joked to Noni Madueke in a position on his social media on Friday.
After passing a trophy-free campaign last season, the side of Pep Guardiola will want to be at their best again in 2025-26.
On Saturday the citys travel to Molineux to take on Wolves in their Premier League opener.
In the run -up to the game, Haaland shared a selfie with its Snapchat account with the location tagged as Wolverhampton.
A fan then replied to the 25-year-old and asked him to share his thoughts about the city of West Midlands.
Haaland replied, “Hahahahaa I know what you are trying to do here.”
The comments from the Norway International were a brutal reference to an incident that Madueke landed in warm water prior to the Chelsea collision with wolves in August last year.
In the game, the then-blues star saw its first Premier League-Hattrick when Enzo Maresca achieved a 6-2 victory, but it was a post on social media that attracted the anger of the Wolves Faithful.
Prior to that game, Madueke uploaded a message to his Instagram story.
The post left the city of Wolverhampton tagged and on the message was: “Everything about this place is s ***.”
Although this was removed quickly, the post was just long enough to screens several times before it was spread on a large scale on social media.
Madueke followed it with another message with the text: 'Damnn Wrong Instagram account .. you are way too fast'.
