The hosts were reduced to 10 when Konsa was shown directly red in the 66th minute after pulling Anthony Gordon, who had raced behind the defense and looked through on goal, to the ground.
The frustration had already built for the magpies without their star man, Isak, who led the border, but the situation deteriorated when they had not had their benefits counted in Villa Park.
The Swedish International was not mentioned in the competition day, with his Transfersaga who continued to rumble behind the scenes, and his absence was felt seriously in the first half when his side wasted golden opportunities for the goal.
The magpies collected an expected goals value of 1.16 xg before the break, but could not find the back of the net despite this dominance.

The red card stagnated their approach in the future, but stuck the side of Unai Emery at the back.
Boubacar Kamara fell in the center of the defense after the departure of Konsa and the compact claret and blue unity frustrated Newcastle, which limited their opponents to very little to the benefit.
Both parties walked away with a point, but although it will feel positive for Villa, the Newcastle offers a worrying insight into how life without Isak could really be.
