Khabib Nurmagomedov praises 22-2 teammate who hasn’t lost in a decade as the best middleweight outside of the UFC

Throughout this week, the combat sports world focuses on the middleweight division.

UFC 319 is only a few hours away, where Dricus du Plessis will be confronted with the title of 185 pounds on the line in the Khamzat Chimaev main event.

Many believe that the middleweight division of the UFC is the most exciting that it has been, if not, with a huge title fight and various feasible challengers.

When I looked outside the Octagon, there is a man who has been for many years, people believed that they were the best in this weight class that was not signed at the UFC.

The unbeaten run by Johnny Eeblen came to a shocking end in his last outing before Khabib Nurmagomedov gave this title to another hunter.

Magomedrasul Gasanov earns a lot of praise from Khabib Nurmagomedov after his last title win

Absolutely Akhmat championship, or ACA, returned last Friday evening for an event in Moscow, Russia.

ACA 190 was led by a middleweight title defense of the dominant champion of the promotion that his fifth challenger wanted to defend.

Magomedrasul Gasanov is a 30-year-old Russian hunter with a record of 22-2, who has not been defeated since June 2015.

After having suffered back-to-back losses that year, he won 17 fights in a row and, especially competing in ACA.

In his second battle of 2025, Gasanov took his fellow Russian, Dmitriy Aryshev, who had not lost since 2019 and rode a 12-field winning streak.

The middleweight champion continued his dominant run by stopping Aryshev in the second round, after raining the ground and strikes of the pound.

In a message about his Instagram story, Khabib Nurmagomedov praised his teammate with a short explanation, referring to Gasanov as the best middleweight in the world outside the UFC.

Khabib Nurmagomedov calls Magomedrasul Gasanov the “Best middleweight hunter in the world outside the UFC.”

Inshaallah I can't wait to see him competing in the UFC one day. He is a very talented mixed martial artist. pic.twitter.com/rphzionodiy

MagomedRrasul Gasanov has a victory over a current UFC middle -weighter who would compete this month to compete

The record of Magomedrasul Gasanov is certainly impressive, and seeing him competing one day in the Octagon would be very exciting.

For UFC fans, the only name is probably distinguished from his current winning series The opponent he fought in December 2019.

Gasanov defeated Azamat Bekoev through a split decision before his opponent made his debut in the Octagon earlier this year.

Crucial for Bekoev, while many of his fighting took place in promotions such as ACA, he put together a fantastic run in LFA, who then made his switch to the UFC much more likely.

Since then, the 29-year-old has been one of the breakout stars of the year and recording back-to-back first round finish.

He is now planned to return in October after he was initially booked to compete on 2 August.
