Carlos Prates may have an opponent waiting in the wings for his desire to fight in UFC Rio Na UFC 319.
UFC 319 star Carlos Prates landed one of the dirtiest knockouts in recent promotional history about Geoff Neal on Saturday night in Chicago. With another second in round 1, Prates Neal caught with a rotating elbow to the head that immediately drained his opponent.
It was a striking version for prates after having had his first UFC defeat earlier this year. After the victory of Prates, he immediately begged UFC CEO Dana White to get to the upcoming UFC Rio card in October and called former UFC champion Welterweight Leon Edwards.
Although White accepted the plea of Prates, he may not get his desired opponent, but a fellow -fc 319 -striking is ready to oblige his request.

During his UFC 319 Post-Fight Press Conference, Michael 'Venom' page offered to combat prates to meet his UFC Rio question.

“100 percent, you don't hit me with that rotating elbow, I'll tell you that now,” said Page.
“It is a great fight, and it is one of those fights that I want. I would like to go to Brazil, I have had fans there for many years, I remember that I was called the 'uk Anderson Silva', what a huge compliment … I still did not succeed in getting there, so I would be sure to be there.
Page was then insisted on clarity about whether or not he would be open to fighting in a five-round Co-Main event against Prates.
“Yes, 100 percent. Again, if it's a great fight, why not?” Page answered.
“Give me more time to show my skills. I want the [Leon Edwards] Fight to be in the UK. Nothing in my life [in October] So that's perfect. “
Page defeated former UFC title Challenger Jared Cannonier by a unanimous decision earlier on the UFC 319 main card. He has won two consecutive fights since he went to the middleweight earlier this year, including a dominant victory over Shara 'Bullet' Magomedov in UFC Saudi Arabia.

A matchup between page and prates would be a wild firefight, on paper, in the octhoek.
UFC Rio is head of a lightweight matchup between former UFC Lightweight Champion Charles Oliveira against Rafael Fiziev. It will mark a quick change for Oliveira after he was eliminated by Ilia Topuria in June by Ilia Topuria on UFC 317.
Page, in the interview mentioned above, clarified that he should sit with his coaches to discuss whether he can make the change for UFC Rio. But Page has repeatedly explained that he wants big fighting to complete his MMA career, including a final potential push to a title.
