Ebereechi Eze comes after moving to Tottenham Hotspur, but it seems that Crystal Palace is not completely ready to illuminate their grip on the English star
Van Ebereechi Eze is now expected to be for Crystal Palace against Chelsea, despite reports of an imminent move to Tottenham Hotspur. The English star is the subject of serious interest on the North London side.
And reports during the weekend claimed that Spurs stimulated their interest – and Eze would be out of operation for Palace. The Eagles will open their newest Premier League campaign against Chelsea on Sunday.
But it now seems that a U-turn was performed this weekend due to the availability of Eze for Palace. According to a number of reports, the winger is now expected to be mentioned in the starting line-up versus Chelsea after a similar claim of palace boss Oliver Glasner.
Speaking prior to the Chelsea game, he said: “Marc [Guehi] Has trained with us all week, every training session, the same with EBs [Eze]. They prepared the best way for the Chelsea match on Sunday afternoon.
“I have been in the football business for too long, so I know things can happen at any time of every day. If you ask me now, I expect that both Marc and EBs will start on Sunday.”
Spurs' striving for Eze is still underway, but there is no agreement between the two clubs, while Palace continues to work on possible replacements. The Bilal El Khannouss from Leicester has been associated in recent days, while Christos Tzolis of Club Brugge is also an option.
It was claimed that Spurs wanted to sign Eze for around £ 60 million, while a release clause of £ 68.5 million was earlier this summer. Spurs boss Thomas Frank was asked for a possible movement after the opening day victory against Burnley on his part, but remained tight lips.
He said: “We are certainly on the market. I said it earlier, Daniel and Johan and Vinai are working ruthlessly to try to do their best to improve the team, but we only want to improve the team if we can get players who can improve a team. I want to keep it as IS.”

Palace signed Eze of colleague capital side Queens Park Rangers back in the summer of 2020 for around £ 17 million. He was made in all matches for the club 167 performances and scored 39 goals – of which 14 came last season.
