On Saturday, Khamzat Chimaev completed which seemed to be inevitable when he became the UFC Middleweight Champion.
Since he came to the UFC in 2020, it seemed inevitable that Khamzat Chimaev would win at least one UFC title in one weight class.
And last Saturday he finally did that when he completely dominated Dricus Du Persis in the Main Event of UFC 319, making him the unanimous decision to become the new champion of 185 pounds.
Almost immediately after his victory, UFC boss Dana White bullied that 'Borz' could possibly defend his title as soon as UFC 321 in October, after he stated that he stated his wish to fight in Abu Dhabi.

Because this fight was one of the most expected battles so far this year, there were several large stars, including a few old middleweight candidates.
One of whom was Anthony Hernandez, who scored his eighth UFC victory in a row last week when he submitted Roman Dolidze in the fourth round.
Many fans believe that 'Fluffy' will soon be possible to fight for the title soon, and possibly helping his business in an attempt, Hernandez was in the front row for the UFC 319 Main Event.

Who will then fight Khamzat Chimaev?
The middleweight division is possible in the best position in which it has been for a while, with various contenders near the top who could fight for a title.
It was likely that the winner of Nassourdine Imavov vs Caio Borralho would fight next to the belt, after Chimaev stated that he wants to fight UFC 321 in October, it seems unlikely that they will be the next.
That can leave the door open for Hernandez or Reinier de Ridder, who was also present, to jump the peloton because of timing.
