Club statement:
Nottingham Forest is pleased to announce the signing of Arnaud Kalimuendo, who joins the club with a five -year deal.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a good season in Ligue 1 in 2024/25, scored 18 goals and registered four assists in 34 performances for Stade Rennais.
The Frenchman started his career at Paris Saint-Germain at the age of ten and worked his way through the academy in the French capital. The attacker made his debut for the Under-19 team in the UEFA Youth League under 19 years old. He made his official first team debut in 2020 and signed a contract extension with the 13 times French champions in the same year.
After enjoying two successful loan spells at Lens where he yielded 21 times in 65 performances, Kalimuendo ended his ten -year association with PSG and moved to Bretagne to sign for Rennes in August 2022.
In his first two seasons in the Europa League, Kalimuendo played for the Ligue 1 side and was played more than 100 times and scored 40 goals.
Mainly working as a center-forward but with the possibility to extend defenders and play out wide, Kalimuendo is an agile attacker who arrives at Trentside after his best goal season.
When signing, Kalimuendo said: “When I heard about Forest's interest, I was honored. This is a proud moment for me, with a team that had a strong season last year and a club with great history.
“I am ready for the challenge and I am coming here with good experience. I had a good season with goals and assists last year, but I want to reach more and want to reach a new level here.
“I can't wait to play in the Premier League and to play on the city ground. I watched games from last season and it is clear that the fans are creating a nice atmosphere. I am excited to see them and impatient to start.”
Chief Football Officer, Ross Wilson, said: “It was a few busy days for us – the highlight of a lot of hard work of our employees for a few weeks.
“Arnaud is someone whose progress we have closely followed about PSG, Lens and Rennes, and we are delighted that the next step in his journey will be here in Nottingham.
“He arrives with real excitement and great energy, and we look forward to seeing that on the field.”
