The most important motivation of UFC Middleweight Champion Khamzat Chimaev has divided the opinion.
Saturday was a good night at the office for Chimaev, who has had nothing but that since the start of his professional career in mixed martial arts.
'Borz' remained unbeaten in the UFC 319 Main Event, where Chimaev dominated Dricus Du Plessis for 25 minutes to protect three 50-44 Scorecards in his favor and the 185-pound gold to let its waist wrap.
The one -sided nature of the fight was a shock to many, not in the least du plessis, who had triggered the chances of the Chechen star after hearing one comment during the Vechtweek.
Khamzat Chimaev defends against claims that he focuses on money 'too much'
Days Out of the PPV event in Chicago, du Plessis thought that his chances against Chimaev increased when the challenger pointed to money as his leading motivation about inheritance and titles.
But while 'Still Knocks' stated that Chimaev could not beat him with such a mentality, he continued to eat his words in the United Center.
And during a backstage interview for the UFC, 'Borz' defended his polarizing motivation further and explained that his focus on wealth is not due to selfish reasons.
“Just money, (earning) money,” Chimaev said when he was asked what awaits him afterwards in the UFC.
“People think I like too much money. I like to get the money and the opportunity to help people, that's why I talk about the money. I want the chance to help someone,” he added.

The health problems and inactivity of Chimaev in recent years were cited as a concern prior to his award -winning title in Chicago, and he answered those worries during the fight week with an ambitious plan.
Despite the fact that they have not been struggling in succession since 2022, Chimaev focused on a UFC 321 321 321 -back in Abu Dhabi to make his first defense.
The chance that this happened seemed to increase on UFC 319 when, after the middleweight title had changed owner, the fast Turnaround plan of Dana White Green-Lit Chimaev.
“I just had a child fight on Tuesday and wanted to turn around and fight here. Abu Dhabi? I would definitely consider,” said White during his press conference.
