Chelsea still wants to add to their team before the end of the transfer window and Boss Enzo Maresca wants more attacking players, with RB Leipzig's Netherlands International Xavi Simons Prime on their shortlist
RB Leipzig has warned Chelsea that they are ready to run away from a deal for Xavi Simons. Nederlands International is ready to move to Stamford Bridge and has agreed the conditions with the Premier League side, which would like to add it to their attacking stable before the end of the transfer star.
But Leipzig refuses to act cheaply and certainly does not have to sell – despite their failures to qualify for the Champions League this season – after she had cashed in Benjamin Sesko at an amount of £ 74 million.
It is believed that Simons has made it clear that he only wants to go to Chelsea, despite the reported interest of both Manchester City and Bayern Munich, where the latter now insists to add their attack after the exit of Kingsley Coman to Saudi Arabia. But RBL is not in the hurry to let him leave and are on their guard that Chelsea is also improving in negotiations with Manchester United to sign Alejandro Garnacho.
Now sports director Marcel Schafer has warned that a deal will only be punished by RBL if they are completely happy with all aspects of the move. He said Bild: “There will only be a transfer if it is sporty and financially useful. If that is not the case, Xavi will also be an RB Leipzig player next year.”
Leipzig is supposed to ask at least £ 60 million to renounce Simons and has no interest in any form of Swap -deal. They have reserved Liverpool Harvey Elliott as a potential replacement.
An area where Chelsea boss Maresca is now desperate to add is in the defense after Tosin Adarabioyo Levi Colwill followed the club's injury list. Van Colwill is expected to miss the majority of the season after having undergone an operation with an ACL injury that was picked up during training after the team returned for the preseason.
On Friday Maresca said he wanted a new central defender, but that the club would look at internal options. Maresca said: “I think we need a central defender. We are looking for an internal solution, but as I said, the club knows exactly what I think.”
When the subject was led on Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Maresca was not interested in adding more fuel to the subject.
“Do you have fun talking about central defenders?” he asked the reporter. “I've already spoken. Thank you very much. “
