Manchester United has received new hope to find the funds for Gianluigi Donnarumma via returning Andre Onana to Inter Milan. The Italian side is interested in bringing the keeper to the San Siro only two years after he had sold him to United, it was claimed.
Onana has had an up and down United career since he reached the Champions League final with Inter in 2023. He made a number of controversial errors last season, but suggests that the Red Devils might be looking for an upgrade.
The keeper has been absent in the presidential games while he brought himself back to full fitness, but head coach Ruben Amorim insisted that the injury was not behind his decision to leave Onana against Arsenal on Sunday. “No (he is not injured), he was recovered, but the other boys did so well during the preseason, so I have to balance that,” Amorim said after choosing Altay Bayindir and calling Tom Heaton on the couch.
United is linked to a number of keepers as his replacement. The majority of the noise concerns Gianluigi Donnarumma, who, according to two former stars, would be the right man for the track, while there was also a renewed interest in Emi Martinez from Aston Villa.

When Inter comes in with an offer on Onana, this could very well allow United Donnarumma to land, despite interest from Buren Manchester City.
