Wrexham has invested heavily this summer while trying to maintain a place in the championship and now stand up to sign one of the brightest stars in Manchester City
Allegedly, Wrexham closes a stunning deal for Manchester City -defender Callum Doyle while their summer recruitment continues. The Welsh Club splashed the money this summer after their promotion to the championship.
Wrexham has already spent about £ 20 million by the window, while they have also made the club record transfer with a £ 7.5 million deal for Ipswich's Nathan Broadhead. But it seems that they are not completely ready there.
The athletic report that the championship side is now approaching a £ 8 million dive for the younger Callum Doyle of Man City. He is also interested in Rangers and Sheffield United, but Wrexham seems to have won the race for his services.
Doyle, 21, is a product of the Academy of City that has been to the club during his youth career. But he only made two senior performances for the side.
However, he has been on loan. He helped Sunderland to promotion in 2022 and then reached the Playoff final of the championship the following season with Coventry.
The defender then joined Leicester and won the championship, while he spent on loan last season with Norwich City. Earlier this summer he addressed that he was ready for meadows new.
“I think (a permanent step) is the next goal for me,” Doyle told The Pink Un. “It is now my fourth loan and I have been everywhere in the country.
“I have nothing bad to say about this club. I love it. I like to play here and on Carrow Road. The fans are great, so you never know (about a return). It just depends on what happens in the summer, to be honest.”

In the meantime, Wrexham -Baas Phil Parkinson has revealed that he would still like to welcome a few new faces in the racecourse ground prior to next month's deadline. He said: “We look all over the board. We probably need a few more players, we look at that.
“It is underway, it is clearly busy for all managers and clubs when you want to improve yourself for games and want to improve the team. The boys we have brought in at the moment are really good and I am happy with the way they have settled.”
Wrexham has lost each of their opening of two champion matches. They were dramatically beaten by Southampton late before they fell to beat Norwich City. They will continue their search for their first victory of the campaign this weekend while organizing Crisis Club Sheffield on Wednesday.
