Mary Fowler surprised fans and her teammates after she went to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal that she went back to grass in her footy boots only four months after she had sustained a horror knee injury that required an operation.
The Matildas-Superster tore her front cruciate ligament (ACL) during the FA Cup Semi-Final defeat of Manchester City by Manchester United on 13 April.
Correct scenes unfolded when the season of the 22-year-old attacker 2024-25 was demolished, with Fowler enjoying a brilliant season and had delivered 10 goals in all competitions for the city.
According to one investigation, entitled Return to Play and Performance after Voorste Kruisligament reconstruction in the National Women's Soccer League, the average rehabilitation process for female football players tends to last approximately 12 months.
And Fowler seems to be well on track with her recovery, with some that they hope that she could return to action so soon in November.
She beamed from ear to ear while she jogged her way up and down through the football field and also seemed to perform a few skips while she also completed some work with a resistance tire.
Man City is currently completing a training camp for the season in the iconic La Manga Resort in Spain and the team was also seen in the training complex on a series of Push Bikes.
Fowler was seen with her colleagues in a video published on the club's website, another good sign that heals her injury.
The concern was mounted that Fowler would be absent for the Australia Cup campaign in Australia in March 2026.
But the boss of Australia, Joe Montemurro, previously revealed in July that she progressed much better than expected.
“I recently spoke to her and she's on track,” said Montemurro.
'She is currently in Sydney and runs some running.
“She looks good, and hopefully she should play back before November.”
