Wrexham close in on £8m Man City defender

Wrexham does not show any signs of delay on the transfer market after they had destroyed their transfer record for a former Premier League striker just a few days ago.

Hollywood -owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mcelhenney reinforced the Phil Parkinson team this summer with various new stars, after Wrexham became the first team in the history of the top five of the top five of English football to earn three consecutive promotions last season.

The Welsh club, whose first games came into the championship with defeats against Southampton and West Brom, is in line with Manchester City defender Callum Doyle for compensation in the £ 8 million region.

It only comes a few days after Wrexham confirmed the record signature of Nathan Broadhead of Ipswich Town, who wrote a four-year contract on the Racecourse Ground in a deal with an initial £ 7.5 million, with £ 2.5 million in add-ons.

Sheffield United and Rangers had shown interest in Doyle, 21, but is no longer supposed to be in the running after Wrexham jumped ahead into the transfer race.

The middle behind has played more than 100 games at championship level during loan spells with Sunderland, Coventry, Leicester and Norwich.

Signing Doyle for compensation in the £ 8 million region would take the summer transfer of Wrexham to around £ 18 million, after he has already welcomed 10 new players on the racing course Ground, including Lewis O'Brien, Kieffer Moore and former international English Conor Coady.

Meanwhile, Manchester -defender Manuel Akanji has emerged an important transfer target for Galatasaray.

It is assumed that the Turkish giants have contacted City about the possibility of signing Akanji, who has been a regular fixture in the Pep Guardiola team since he joined Borussia Dortmund in 2022.

Given the 30-year-old star for only two years left over his deal, the former Premier League champions can choose to cash in Akanji instead of running the risk of losing him in the near future.

The interest of Galatasaray in the Swiss International comes after the Turkish club was also connected to a movement for Ederson, which was left in Wolves during the disease during the opening weekend from the 3-0 victory.
