Official | Former Lorient winger Ouattara joins Brentford for club record fee

Brentford does not waste at any time that one of their best attacking wing players replaces a season ago.

On Saturday, the bees Dango Ouattara (23) from AFC Bournemouth signed, with the winger of Burkina Faso who commit themselves to the West -London club until 2030, with an option for an extra year. He will have many expectations on his shoulders, who has signed for a club record compensation of £ 42.5 million, that is almost € 50 million.

Before he joined the cherry in January 2023, Ouattara played two seasons at FC Lorient in Ligue 1, six times in 18 top flights for them in 2022-23 before he left for England in the winter transfer window.

The 23-year-old has made 30 performances for the national team of Burkina Faso and scores 10 times. He is expected to replace Yoane Wissa (28) as Brentford's starting wing this season, with the player born in France from the team for the Premier League opener of the bees on Sunday against Nottingham Forest. Although Wissa has not officially left, this summer he is strongly connected to countless clubs, with Newcastle United those who seem to have the inside to sign it.

This time Brentford will be in the top flight for a fifth consecutive campaign. However, Ouattara comes to a team that many expect it will be above the bottom of the table after manager Thomas Frank left to become a member of Tottenham Hotspur.

Keith Andrews was mentioned as Frank's replacement in Brentford, after he had previously served as a set-piece coach of the club under the Danish boss last season. In their 2024-25 campaign, Ouattara achieved the fourth goals for Bournemouth in the Premier League, with seven, while also added four assists.
