In their search to replace Arnaud Kalimuendo, who left to join Nottingham Forest, Stade Rennais has now opened conversations to sign Ajax's Brian Brobbey (23), according to a report from L'Equipe.
Nederlands International was productive two seasons ago and delivered 18 goals in 30 games in the competition, but he is behind a more difficult campaign with the Dutch giants. In 27 Eredivisie competitions he only yielded four times.
He could now be on the move. Rennes is looking for a center-forward, after the sale of Kalimuendo. The Breton club has several goals. Esteban Lepaul from SCO Angers is considered, although the financial demands of Le SCO Rennes can prevent a move. Sporting CPs Conrad Harder is also considered.
Brobbey is the newest target. According to L'équipe, a bid worth just under € 20 million has been submitted to Ajax. However, this has been rejected by the Dutch club, which requires a higher fee.
