Liverpool target Isak breaks silence to declare he ‘can’t continue’ at Newcastle

Liverpool -target alexander Isak says that he “can't continue” in Newcastle and the club of “Broken promises” has accused.

The striker of the Magpies broke his silence on Tuesday evening and issued a statement on Instagram in which he said he “lost confidence” in the club.

He said: “I am proud to be recognized by my colleague professionals with a place in the PFA Premier League team of the season before 2024/25.

“First and foremost I want to thank my teammates and everyone at Newcastle United who supported me along the way.

“I am not at the ceremony tonight. With everything going on, it didn't feel good to be there.

“I have kept silent for a long time while others have spoken. That silence has enabled people to push their own version of events, although they know that it does not reflect what was really said and agreed behind closed doors.

“The reality is that promises have been made and the club has known my position for a long time. To pretend that these problems are only on the rise, it is misleading.

“When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship cannot continue. That is where things are now for me – and why a change in everyone's best interest is, not just myself.”
