Arsenal is linked this summer to a large number of widemen with Mikel Arteta who wants to strengthen its attacking options, but a bizarre deal has already been closed with Leandro Trossard
Leandro Trossard has reached an agreement on a new contract with Arsenal, but it will no longer keep him in the club.
The Belgian wing player had two years on his current deal with the Emirates and as a result he was associated with a move from North Londs in the midst of interest from Saudi Arabia. But it now seems likely that he will stay with Arsenal for the time being.
According to athletics, Arsenal has agreed a new contract with Trossard that will see him guarantee a 'considerable wage increase'. But the deal will not be expanded after the current end of 2027.
It is suggested that the new deal will bring the salary of the former Brighton man in line with his appreciated role in the team. Trossard has scored 23 goals in 124 performances in all competitions for Arsenal since a £ 27 million movement in January 2023.
Last season, Gunners -Baas Mikel Arteta Trossard spoke for his interest and winning mentality. He said: “Yes, Leo is of course a bit of a moan, but I like that because he is very competitive and has your training sessions, he is always busy with the referee's decision because he wants to win. That's what I love.
“He always wants to be the best and if he is not there, he is not happy. But that is what pushes him. That is where he comes to the field, he can have an impact because he has that drive, that anger says,” I'm going to show you. ” I think that's great about him.
“He is really a good character. They all want to play. Always want to play. Leo has shown much more consistency in the last 12 months, he has earned that. He has had a lot of competition in his position. That is it. Increases the level. If he plays at that level, he will play as someone else. He has the capacity to do something special in the last third part.
“He played and with us he played as a left wing player, as an attacking midfielder, he played as nine and he is a player I appreciate a lot, we appreciate a lot because he is very versatile and very competitive and he is a huge threat to the team. Really happy with him.”

In the meantime, Trossard was asked about a new contract at the time and he underlined his happiness with life in North Londs. He said: “I just focused on my football. But you never know how it goes in football, but I'm really happy here.
“I still want to win things here and I think there is a great team, a great team with a great manager who pushed us every day to achieve great things.”
Trossard lagged behind the couch when Arsenal opened their campaign with a 1-0 win against Manchester United at the weekend.
