Brighton does not yet have to admit to their asking price for Carlos Baleba and this could have Manchester United aimed at more affordable midfield goals
Sevilla star Lucien Agoume is the newest name connected to Manchester United, because the Red Devils are looking for cheaper alternatives for Carlos Baleba. United does not seem willing to pay Brighton's nine -digit asking price for Baleba, which has already splashed £ 200 million this summer.
Earlier this week it turned out that Morten Hjulmand and Adam Wharton were both considered, although neither would be simple signing sessions. Sporting Lisbon wants a lot of money to allow Hjulmand to reunite with Ruben Amorim, while Palace can decide that they cannot afford to lose Wharton if his teammates Ebereechi Eze and Marc Guehi also leave this month.
According to reports in Spain (via Sport Witness), Agoume has a release clause with a value of slightly less than £ 35 million and it might be available for less than that. Other Premier League clubs that are not further mentioned would also be in the mix, although it is unlikely that one-off lovers from Arsenal return for the Frenchman after previous ties, after they landed Martin Zubimendi in July.
Agoume joined Sevilla from Inter Milan in a Cut-Price deal in 2024, and was a fixed season last season when the team barely escaped the relegation of La Liga. He was also part of the French side, which reached the semi-final of the under-21 euros, played except one except one except one and the side of Poland Captain.
Although profit and sustainability rules this summer make a step for Baleba unlikely, a cheaper option such as Agoume can be the answer. However, much can still depend on the sale elsewhere.
United has signed for exits for Marcus Rashford and Toby Collyer, but still work on permanent outputs for some other players. Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund belong to those who could still leave, although United and Chelsea remain at odds for an appreciation for the first.
There are also questions in the position of the goalkeeper, because ties with Gianluigi Donnarumma persist. The arrival of the Italian could rely on United who sells Andre Onana, with Inter Milan being interested in bringing the Cameroonian back to the San Siro.
Despite losing Arsenal in their opening competition, United looks at the positives after a heavy end until last season. “The group is just for me, I don't know, there is such a good atmosphere. We have all been invested in something,” attacker Joshua Zirkzee told Club Media.
“You can really see that we really want to ensure that we do not do what we did last season. There are also a number of good vibes outside the field. We do a lot of team binding. I feel that we are much closer than we were last season, and hopefully we can translate that on the field and share it with you, you know, the rest of the world that supporting the world.”
