Georges St-Pierre rejected $ 5 million comeback offer
Tyron Woodley wants to fight for the first time since he was poorly eliminated by Jake Paul in December 2021.
The former UFC champion Welterweight thought that Georges St-Pierre was the perfect opponent for his comeback, but his range of $ 5 million to do that fight was politely rejected by the best 170 pound hunter in the MMA history.
“I offered 'GSP' $ 5 million to fight myself in the middle,” said Woodley Action Network.
“I had an organization, and we would promote a fight, for me and GSP. And he just said downright:” Tyron, I am no longer in that space, I don't fight anymore. I appreciate the offer. ” I said: “Cool.
“It was nothing respectful, because he is the best goodweight of all time. He is the best. So why would I not want to fight him? If I would defeat Georges St. Pierre, nobody would give it to it [my losses to] Gilbert Burns, Vicente Luque, Colby Covington or Kamaru Usman.
“None of those losses is important. I am the best good weight of all time, so I looked at that point of view. I thought I could beat him. I never got the chance to prove it when I was at my peak.”
Tyron Woodley Paait Jack della Maddalena
In the same interview, Tyron Woodley shared daring opinions about different fighting -related topics.
The most famous victim of Jake Paul supported him to cause an upset if he then fights Anthony Joshua.
'The Chosen One' was also laid in the current UFC Welterweight Champion, Jack della Maddalena.
Woodley claimed that Della Maddalena would not have been a top 10 hunter if he had participated in his time.
'[Jack Della Maddalena] Wouldn't even have been in my sight, “he said.
“I would not have looked at him in the scope. He would not have experienced Carlos [Condit]. He would certainly not have come by Robbie [Lawler]. 'Wonderboy' [Stephen Thompson] Does better against pure strikers than all of us. His timing and his capacities, just to go into very quickly, he would have defeated him.
“I think he's a good hunter. I never take people away from people. It's hard to win a championship, just because there is so much pressure. But I can just think of ten people in my division who was not the champion who would have defeated him.”
