One of the names that quickly took note of Kavanagh and his potential happens to be one of the biggest stars in sport.
UFC Lichtweight Champion Ilia Topuria mentioned the flight weight perspective during his only performance on the Joe Rogan experience earlier this year before he became two-time champion.

In a recent video posted by Cage Warriors, the promotion in which Kavanagh recorded four consecutive victories to earn his candidate series, the UFC Shanghai Star responded to Topuria's comments.
Topuria and Kavanagh had briefly crossed the paths in London earlier this year, with 'El Matador' present to coach his teammate and countryman, Guram Kutateladze.
