Real Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini has placed the ball in the court of Manchester United about the potential return of Brazilian winger Antony. After a great loan spell last season, both Betis and the player are apparently in favor of a second loan agreement, but Manchester United is less enthusiastic.
Their intention was to sell Antony this summer for somewhere between € 40-50 million, but so far no offers have been received. To reduce betis, that must remain the case. Pellegrini explained that United should make a decision.
“I did not speak to Antony. We all know that Antony was very good here, we want Antony with us and Antony undoubtedly wants to return. But we also need the owner who is Manchester United to make a decision,” he said Diario like.

Pellegrini spoke for the first time in La Cartuja for the second game of the season against Alaves. While Betis renovates their Benito Villamarin stage, they play this season in La Cartuja, where Spain has often operated on lately.
“I see it as a positive because it enables us to renovate the Villamarin. The fans are passionate, and even if they are a few meters away, it will be a temporary discomfort. The ambition is always the same; the renovation of the Villamarin had to be done. This club needs it.”
In the meantime, it was a surprise for many that Alvaro Valles, who had agreed a deal to close Betis as their starter last summer, stayed on the couch for Pau Lopez in their opener against Elche.
