The bitter rivalry between Jones and Daniel Cormier has just had a flash point.
'DC' has been retired for years, but his task as an UFC analyst and commentator means that he is always talking about MMA.
Of course, the former two-weight UFC champion was asked about the sport when he recently appeared on the Shannon Sharpe podcast.

Jon Jones responds to the MMA Mount Rushmore of Daniel Cormier.
Jon Jones is generally considered the greatest MMA hunter of all time after his 28-1 (1NC) Run in sport.
The only blip on his record is a controversial DQ defeat against Matt Hammill, which he dominated before their fight 2009 was left for illegal elbows landing.
One of his two wins on Daniel Cormier was also destroyed into a no-contest due to a failed drug test.
The greatest rival of Jones used his history of testing positive for illegal substances as a reason to exclude him when he ranked the top four hunters of all time.
“Demetrious Johnson. Georges St-Pierre. Khabib. Khabib was unbeaten,” said Cormier when he was asked to call his MMA Mount Rushmore.
'Fourth? God, that's where it becomes difficult. I would never set myself up there, right? But I am right in that 4-7 range of [fighters].
'Anderson [Silva] Had the steroids, so I can't put Anderson. I would like to put Anderson. If I say that all those guys have been admitted, then Jon is clear [Jones] Anderson is on that Mount Rushmore. I refuse to do that. Not in fighting. “
After a clip of Cormier's comments went viral, Jones went to social media to hit back to his old enemy.
“When DC tells his story, somehow I am always the co-star. Thanks @Shannonsharpe84 for the invitation, even if I was in mind alone. #Airbnb,” he tweeted.
“To have a man lobbying on one of the largest podcasts, in an attempt to convince the world that my work ethics was driven by steroids … You clearly didn't even look at the interview,” Jones added when a fan defended Cormier.
“High school champion, Juco National Champ, youngest UFC champion, the greatest in the history of MMA. A lifelong loss, victories and sacrifice and this man wants to write it all as steroids. To be honest it is offensive. But I can only laugh, laugh, laugh, laughs him so much laughs him who was God who was god who was god who laughs him so that god who was so god who was god that he was so laughed at him who was god who was so laughed at him who was god that he was so laughed” “

Will Jon Jones fight again?
Jon Jones wants to fight again after announcing his very short period in retirement earlier this year.
The 38-year-old is desperate to head when the UFC puts a show in the White House in July 2026.
Dana White says that there is a 'billion for one' chance that it will happen. Jones is currently in the bad book of the UFC CEO to agree to fight Tom Aspinall before retiring a few weeks instead.
Jones has since responded to White crushed his dream to fight at the official residence of President Donald Trump.
“Despite the opportunities, I am still training and optimistic about the opportunity to be part of the White House event,” he wrote on social media. “At the end of the day, Dana is in charge and it is his call whether I will compete that night or not.
“I know that Dana was really enthusiastic about the fight and the door is not completely closed.
“That is all a man like me really needs. It sounds like another great goal to be inspired by. Sometimes we don't achieve everything we want to do in life and that is okay. But I love my chances … One in a billion is exactly what was needed to end up if Jon's” Bones “Jones in the first place.”
