De Laurentiis: We recieved €200m offer from PSG for Kvaratskhelia and Osimhen

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis revealed that Paris Saint-Germain offered more than € 200 million for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen last summer.

The Laurentiis added that if he sold the duo, the money would have gone to an attempt to lure Arsenal Victor Gyokeres to the Serie A champions.

Kvaratskhelia eventually sealed a switch to PSG for a reported reimbursement of € 70 million in January, while Osimhen spent the 2024-25 season on loan with Turkish Giants Galatasaray.

Last month, Osimhen put pen on paper on a permanent deal with Galatasary and joined the club according to reports for € 75 million, although Napoli has strengthened itself.

The will of Sam Beukema, Noa Lang, Miguel Gutierrez, Lorenzo Lucca and Kevin De Bruyne have all become members of Napoli this season because they want to keep this season.

The side of Antonio Conte is also linked to Manchester United Forwards Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund, after he had lost Romelu Lukaku's top scorer through injury.

Napoli are leaving their Scudetto defense this Saturday to Sassuolo, where the Laurentiis lifted the lid on Kvaratskhelia and the departure of Osimhen from the club.

'I had to leave him [Kvara] Go because his agent threatened to use Article 17, “said ADL 7 Corriere della Sera via Di Marzio.

“After the extraordinary first season of the Georgian, we immediately moved to negotiate a contract extension, which increased his salary and offered him a considerable amount.

“His agent, Mamuka Jugeli,, however, had other plans for himself and the player.

“At the end of the second contractual year there was the European Championship in Germany.

“I flew to Dusseldorf with Manna and Chiavelli to resolve the situation, but Mamuka stopped and claimed that Giuntoli had promised money that was never paid.

“It was a lie, easy to refute. I could have selled it at that time. PSG offered more than 200 m for the Kvara and Osimhen package.

The Laurentiis also revealed that he made an attempt to lure Gyokeres away from Sporting CP to Naples, before the Sweden International completed a move to Arsenal.

Gyokeres scored 68 goals in two seasons in the Primeira Liga – most player in Europe's top 10 competitions since his move to Portugal from Coventry City in 2023.

He scored 39 goals in 2024-25, making him the leading scorer in Europe's top 10 competitions, with his count eight more than the next best Kylian Mbappe.

“However, I had promised Conte that I would keep him, and I didn't feel like going back to my word. With those funds, the idea was to buy Gyokeres.”
