Ebereechi Eze has been removed from the Arsenal Rivals at Tottenham near Noord -London, and it is not the first time that the Gunners have hijacked one of the transfers of the LilyWhites
Ebereechi Eze is not the first player to snub Tottenham for Arsenal, as Takehiro Tomiyasu almost drew for Spurs for a last-minute U-turn. The Japanese full-back was welcomed as part of a major revision of the Mikel Arteta Gunners team in 2021 and arrived the same summer as Ben White and Martin Odegaard.
And while Arsenal paid £ 19.8 million for the former Stalwart Bologna, Tomiyasu could have started to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium instead of the Emirates earlier in the day. Tomiyasu told a whirlwind -theadline day movement with Dazn Japan and said: “I thought I was unable to become a member of Arsenal.
“I thought I would go to Spurs. On Deadline Day I rejected them. Arsenal asked me to come to them and I did it immediately.”
The 26-year-old has been 84 times for the Gunners since he made the switch of the Serie A, but has fallen out of the grace of the will of White and Jurrien Timber. However, that did not prevent his teammates from having praised him over the years for his performances and work ethic.
White said about the star in 2021: “Of course you all saw how he performed when he plays for Arsenal. He is such a nice guy. He fits in right when he came. All the boys love him and he also does the company on the field. He is really doing well.”
History seems to be repeating itself, given that Arsenal apparently won the race to secure the signature of Ebereechi of Crystal Palace. Spurs was of the opinion that they had an agreement with the Eagles for the versatile attacking midfielder after having chased his services throughout the summer.
But it now seems as if their rivals in North Londs have again defeated them. The Gunners pay a guaranteed £ 60 million for Eze to close the deal, as well as £ 7.5 million in performance-related add-ons.
He will arrive at the club on Friday to complete a medical, even though he is expected to perform in the Europa League collision of Palace with Fredrikstad in Selhurst Park on Thursday evening. Eze wants to play despite his upcoming transfer, but Palace could still get him out of the game.
The move will not only come a huge blow to Spurs, who want to renew their team before Deadline Day under Thomas Frank, but also to Palace and Oliver Glasner.
The 27-year-old, who has been closed 11 times before England, is a radiant light in Selhurst Park since securing a £ 19.5 million transfer from Queens Park Rangers in 2020. Not only did he score 40 goals and has delivered 28 assists in 169 outings for his club, but he was also instrumental in Palace's 1-0 Fa-Overlinninning in May, the Game-Winwinninninninninning.
He also played earlier this month in the victory of the Eagles' Community Shield victory in Liverpool and the Fresh Premier League campaign started in good shape, even though he had an impressive free kick goal against Chelsea controversially because of the infringement of Marc Guehi.
Eze is not the only star that could separate this summer with the South London side, with Guehi also linked to a move to Liverpool prior to 1 September. The 25-year-old is in the last year of his contract with Palace, and is seen as a good fit when Arne Slot is looking for his own impressive transfer window in style.
It all depends on whether the Reds are willing to reach the £ 45 million from Guehi at the moment, especially in view of the fact that the Premier League winners could still be in the race for a late step for Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.
