Sam Kerr fans go berserk over Matildas star’s HUGE news

Matildas star Sam Kerr has insisted that there is no reason why she cannot come back to her productive target score scores if she reveals that she is about to return her long-awaited games with Chelsea.

Kerr has not played for Club or Land since she tore her ACL on a Chelsea training camp in January 2024.

Her rehabilitation has had setbacks, including the requirement of further operation earlier this year, while also enduring a controversial lawsuit in February.

There is still no fixed date for her return, but Kerr is now back training with her teammates, who have been in a training camp in the Netherlands.

The biggest goal scorer in Australia, who enjoyed a trophy loading in Chelsea for six years, has withdrawn to deliver when she returns to her club.

“My contribution is goals; It's that simple, “Kerr said the Chelsea website.

'For the last time, no matter how many years, I have been within the top objectives, if not the top goalscorer in the team, and I want to come back, I have high expectations of myself.

'I have a lot of faith in my ability, so the contribution for me is simple. They are goals. That is what I am here to do, and that is what I do normally, so there is no reason why I can't do it again. '

Kerr enjoyed her return to more regular programming in Chelsea, which opens their season against Manchester City on Stamford Bridge on 5 September, after her horror injury.

“During an injury you are a lot alone,” said Kerr.

'So it's good to be back with the girls, just to do the same training sessions as they are instead of lonely rehabilitation sessions.

'It's nice to be back with the girls, back on the field, and yes, I am excited. I look forward to being there, scoring goals and having fun. '

Football fans could not control their joy during the update.

'LFG !!!!!!' One wrote on X.

“This year will be the next level!” Another added.

“Coming for that golden boot,” wrote another fan, referring to the prize for the world's best player.

“The moment she gets back on the field will be glorious,” wrote another commentator.

Kerr's enthusiasm will be welcome news for Matildas coach Joe Montemurro, who hopes to let her return before next year's Asian Cup, together with Mary Fowler, who recently started running while she is trying to return from her own ACL traane.

Chelsea will especially like to have her back in their attacking folds, with England Dynamo Lauren James to miss the start of the season due to an ankle injury in the last victory of the ladies in Spain.

Kerr, who is accompanied by Matildas teammate Ellie Carpenter at Chelsea, also wants to play for the first time under manager Sonia Bompastor.

“Sonia is very demanding as a manager,” she said.

'I only went to training for a few weeks, but I enjoy working under her and Cami (assistant coach Camille Abily), they are great.

“It's a big change for me, but they had a lot of success last year, so I'm looking forward to playing among them.”
