Georges St-Pierre’s coach makes controversial Khamzat Chimaev claim involving Anderson Silva after UFC 319

The old trainer of Georges St-Pierre does not stop with his praise from Khamzat Chimaev after UFC 319.

Chimaev completed his climb to the top in the UFC as unbeaten hunter last Saturday, when he led the newest pay-per-view event of the promotion in United Center in Chicago.

After some exciting finishes on the main map, Chimaev Dricaev Du Plessis dominated for five rounds in a surprisingly one -sided match between two hunters who both still had to beat in the UFC Octagon.

The reaction to Chimaev's record spread is mixed, in which some praise their full control in the fight and others criticize the Chechen star because they do not push to finish Du Plessis.

But there is no doubt on which side of the debate this man is …

Georges St-Pierre's Coach Kroon Khamzat Chimaev 'The Greatest Middleweight Ever'

The result on August 16 only marked the third fight on 185 pounds for 'Borz' since he went from Welterweight, where Chimaev's UFC 279 Weight Miss chased the end of his title in that division for the time being.

After he was scraped past Kamaru Usman, Chimaev brutally submitted Robert Whittaker to secure a title shot that he finally made the best of at UFC 319.

But despite the limited experience in the weight class and his championship rule, coach Firas Zahabi has already been a huge title to Chimaev.

“Khamzat is the largest middleweight ever,” Zahabi said in a video uploaded to the Tristar Gym YouTube channel.

“I could place him against everyone in the middleweight division, and I would choose Khamzat every day. Adesanya, DDP, Anderson Silva in his prime – forget it. None of them can hold a candle for him.

“He is the Khabib (Nurmagomedov) of the middleweight division,” Zahabi added.

Khamzat Chimaev stays outside the pound-for-Pound top three

Although Zahabi claims that Chimaev is the best of all time on 185 pounds, his last performance was not enough to place him above three other names in the promotion.

Chimaev entered the UFC Pound-For rankings at number 4 a few days after his triumph. That did not put him above as a flying weight King Alexandre Pantoja, heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall and featherweight title holder Alexander Volkanovski.

'Borz', however, has remained among two colleague champions in number 1 Ilia Topuria and no. 3 Merab Dvalishvili, as well as a man who currently does not hold gold in Islam Makhachev.
