Ange Postecoglou is a shock name in the frame to replace Nuno Espirito Santo after the Nottingham Forest Manager seemed to sweep to owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Nuno's future is in doubt, with the ex-Tottenham and Wolves boss who reveals his relationship with Marinakis, is “changed”, with the couple “not so close”, adding: “There is no smoke without fire.”
Postecoglou is desperate to return to the Premier League after he had been extracted by Spurs in the summer, just after winning the Europa League.
And Sunsport understands that Forest is a potential destination for the Australian boss, who was intensive of the Saudi club Al-Ahli in the summer.
Nuno made tongues waving with his sensational comments in his press conference before the game prior to Sunday's collision with Crystal Palace.
He said: “I always had a very good relationship with the owner, last season we were very close and we spoke daily.
“This season is not that good [between us].
“But I always believe that dialogue is important because my care is the team and the season we have for us.
“Our relationship has changed and we are not that close.”
Nuno continued: “I am honest with you, I can't say [our relationship] Is the same because it is not. The reason behind it? Don't know.
“What I said last week or two weeks ago was my concern and why I was worried … Because my task is always to try to anticipate what happens to us, and that is what I said with respect.
“But the reality is that it is not what it used to be … It used to be a good, respectful relationship based on trust and sharing opinions, and now it's not so good.”
Nuno, who signed a new three -year contract in June, added: “My job is clear: to manage the team, prepare the team well and try to get them to the next level so that we can get the best out of them.
“This is what I always do, and it's my most important focus.
“But the club has different opinions …
“We know each other very well, and we have all been in the industry for a while. And where there is smoke, there is fire …
“So I know how things work, but I am here to do my work.
“I understand. I'm worried. I am the first to worry. I am the first to worry. “
Forest then travel to Crystal Palace on Sunday, August 24, kicking off 2 p.m.
