Aston Villa has confirmed that defender Alex Moreno has completed a permanent move to Laliga side Girona.
Moreno, who came to Villa from Real Betis in 2023, has signed a two -year -old deal with Girona for a free transfer, even though he is left for another year on his contract.
The 32-year-old made 48 performances in all competitions under Unai Emery, scored three goals and registered three assists.
He spent the 2024-25 season on loan in Nottingham Forest and played 19 times in all competitions, while he was also helped to be eligible for Europe.
Moreno is the last departure from Villa Park, with the Spaniard after Jacob Ramsey, Leander Dendoncker and Leon Bailey out.
The defender will be the fifth arrival for Girona this summer, with Michel's side who already completes deals for Hugo Rincon, Axel Witsel, Vitor Reis and Thomas Lemar.
Girona underwent a bad campaign in 2024-25, finished 16th in Laliga and was beaten in their first performance in the competition from the first phase of the Champions League.
Moreno was able to perform his first performance this Sunday for his new team, with Girona against Villarreal.

Villa also confirmed on Friday that Lewis Dobbin would spend the 2025-26 season on loan in the championship with Preston North End.
Dobbin came to the Villans of Everton last year and had Leen Proverbs in the second layer with West Brom and Norwich City.
