Last summer Bojan Miovski came to Girona from Aberdeen, and he could now be set to go back to Scotland with Rangers, who show strong interest in the services of the North Macedonia International.
12 months ago Miovski exchanged Aberdeen for Girona in a deal worth € 6.5 million. In addition to Abel Ruiz, the 26-year-old was brought to Montilivi as a replacement for Artem Dovbyk, who left to become a member of Roma in a club record sale. His time in Catalonia, however, was disappointing, with only four goals in 24 performances in front of the Michel Sanchez side – and two of them came in the Copa del Rey against CD Extremadura.
Girona is expected to make significant changes before the end of the summer transfer window, and Miovski is one of the players who will almost certainly leave. According to Nil Sola, he is ready to leave imminable, after he has been omitted from the MatchDay team to Villarreal on Sunday.
Miovski spent two seasons in Aberdeen prior to his Girona relocation, is well known in Scottish football. And he could now return, with Sola reporting that Rangers are on the rise as leading contenders to sign him on a seasonal loan.
It is likely that every deal will include an option to buy, because Girona is trying to reclaim the vast majority of the € 6.5 million that they have spent on Miovski. And given his success with Aberdeen, it would be no surprise to see him permanently in Scotland with Rangers if he took that step.
For now it is still to be seen how the situation with Miovski takes place. Girona is desperate to get him out of the books, but they no longer have time to get that done.
