Thomas Frank revealed that he is starting to “fall in love” with Tottenham after he led to a 2-0 win over Manchester City on Saturday.
Frank looked up as first half goals by Brennan Johnson and Joao Palhinha helped Spurs to make two victories of two to start their Premier League campaign.
Spurs could have added to their count late in the day, whereby James Trafford partially reconciled for an earlier error with Quickfire Saves to ward off efforts from Dominic Solanke and Wilson Odobert.
And Frank's side was worth their victory, despite the end of the game with an expected goals (XG) a total of 1.02 of their 12 shots to City's 1.51 of their 10 attempts.
After the third competitive game of Dane was just, Frank described the depth of his sense of the club.
“Very pleasant results and overall performance,” Frank told TNT Sports. “The first 35 minutes of city was slightly at the top. That goal helped.
“A big thing in these games against City, which are a top team, has continued to stay in the game and keep doing what you do.
“In the second half we were exceptional in many ways. We constantly went for the 3-0 goal, which we unfortunately did not receive.
“It was the second clean sheet in a row. Last year we had six. That was a big thing for me.
“I loved Brentford and I fall in love with this club here.”
After also won with Brentford in November 2022, Frank only became the third coach who divided Guardiola from home in the competition with two different clubs.
The Spurs boss joined both Jose Mourinho (Real Madrid and Manchester United) and Antonio Conte (Chelsea and Tottenham) to achieve the impressive performance.
And Frank praised his side for learning the lessons of a painful UEFA Super Cup defeat against Paris Saint-Germain, which they lost on penalties after they had a lead of two goals slipping.
“I referred it during the break. If you are tired, keep going. That was one thing,” Frank said. “Two [was] That we had to stay brave on the ball.
“Three [was] That we had to stay good in high pressure. But that is also easier said than done.
“But from every game you learn. From games where you don't get the result you want, you might even learn more.
“And in some respects I think of course the others [an incident involving Trafford] Was a mistake. That was gone at the Etihad. One of the most difficult places to go.
“But the defensive principles are more and more, and I think the mentality is the most important. You need a mentality to win such games.”

Despite their inconsistent versions in the past seasons, Spurs have often been noticed at Etihad.
They have now won three of their last five (D1 L1) Premier League matches in the stadium, two more than in their previous 11 visits (D2 L8).
She also saw the result for the first time since May 2010 putting together back-to-back triumphs against City, with Spurs made a clear start under Frank.
Their versions under the DANE are in stark contrast to those in the last phases under Ange Postecoglou, which, despite leading them to Europa League Glory, was fired in June.
The only son Heung-Min (28) scored more goals than Johnson (23) under Postecoglou in all competitions, but the Wales International said he enjoyed his freedom in the last third part under Frank.
“Nothing massive,” Johnson said about the differences between Postecoglou and Frank as head coaches. “Two different coaches.
“Real enjoyment and many details go into the set pieces, but at the same time he gives us a lot of offensive freedom.
“The first few games we have held have two clean sheets and against Man City is not easy. I have played here often and have admitted many goals.”
