Arsenal ratings: Timber shines with two goals and an assist from right-back

Arsenal hit newly promoted Leeds 5-0 while the new signing Ebereechi Eze was watching from the stands at the Emirates.

The Gunners saw an abundance of goals to a victory in their opening house competition of the season, including a first goal for the Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres.

Leeds bravely held the Premier League two for the first half hour, and even came close to opening the score due to the powerful header of Pascal Struijk, weakened by David Raya.

But it was the head of the Jurrien -Wood of Arsenal that the impasse would break and look home beautifully in the 34th minute from a Declan Rice Corner.

Starlet Bukayo Saka doubled the advantage just before half -time with a pounding finish in the roof of the net of a wood through the ball.

There would be no delay for the visitors, because Gyokees hit his husband and the keeper was wrong to make three.

Timber added another goal for himself in the 54th minute, Teen stuck a filthy goal along Lucas Perri in the chaos after another difficult corner delivery.

The introduction of Max Dowman brought a spark of life in the late stages of the game, in which the 15-year-old won a penalty against Anton Stach.

Here is how Sunssport's Tom Barclay rated the first victory of the season of the season at the Emirates

David Raya: 7

Had no load to do, but made an excellent reflex stop to turn the early header of Pascal Struijk, because Leeds threatened to 'do an arsenal' and score from a corner.

Riccardo Calafiori: 7

Last week's match winner followed his goal at Old Trafford with two assists here.

Although Calafiori could hardly have thought that that was what the end result would be on both occasions – the first a loop -ball forward that Viktor Gyokees became in something magical, the second a weak touch before wood was deleted in a second.

Gabriel: 7

Solid as always next to Center-back partner Saliba.

The one chance of Leeds came from the header of a Struijk when the delivery went over the Brazilian, but apart from that he was a class act.

William Saliba: 8

Imperious. Leeds did not give a pinch, timing his challenges are good and a number of beautiful diagonal steps on the Widemen of Arsenal.

Jurrien Timber: 10

Two goals and an assist – you can't ask much more than that of each player, let alone a right back.

Timber rose highest to become the newest set piece Scorer when he professionally went home Declan Rice's 34th minute corner.

His end product was just as good as he slid in Bukayo Saka for the second in the first half stop time, before he stuck home from another corner after the break. And he also got a clean slate. Perfect.

Martin Zubimendi: 7

The passing was not as crispy as it can be clear and yet you can already see that the Spaniard will probably be the metronome of Gunners in midfield this season.

Was also not afraid to endanger himself to win free kicks.

Declan Rice: 8

The signing of Zubimendi has the potential to unlock Rice's own possibilities as a box-to-box midfielder. There were hints of this, if not glowing examples.

Yet his dead ball supplies again caused all kinds of problems when wood scored from two of his corners.

Martin Odegaard: 6

Did not last the first half due to an injury to his right shoulder. The damage was caused when the captain of Gunners was sent to the grass for 14 minutes thanks to a cynical challenge from Anton Stach.

Odegaard immediately looked in great pain, but still bravely played, until Mikel Arteta exchanged him shortly after Arsenal exchanged.

Noni Madueke: 7

Started wide left in what looks like it could be Arteta, three, injuries and Eze permit.

Madueke kept the ball pretty good, but apart from that it was a relatively quiet first start for the former Chelsea -Man.

Viktor Gyokees: 8

The first of many Bane parties, undoubtedly. The Swedish powerhouse, who wore the famous No14 shirt by Thierry Henry, scored his first goal for the club early in the second half.

And it was reminiscent of the great Frenchman when he grabbed the ball wide on the left, inner field dripped along a few weak Leeds challenges before burying the ball at the nearby pole.

Had his second in injury time after he had stored a spot kick that was won by 15-year-old Max Dowman.

Bukayo Saka: 8

The man from England scored a Belter from a second just before the break – but then came out in the second half caring early.

He seemed to hold his left hamstring – the opposite of the person he had operated on on Christmas Eve last season – but what the exact problem was was not clear.

There had been question marks in which Ebereechi would fit in this Arsenal team before the game, but with Saka and Odegaard who pick up injuries to join the Crocked Kai Havertz, the new man seems to have his choice.

Subs

Ethan Nwaneri (for Odegaard 38): 6

Being 18-year-old now seems relatively old for a miracle member, when you think Max Dowman is three years younger! Solid if unpectacular from Nwaneri.

Leandro Trossard (for Saka 53): 8

Looked sharp when he came up, with an insured touch and pass accurately.

Max Dowman (for Madueke 64): 9

Huge cheers when the 15-year-old came up for his Premier League debut. Paintbrush Touch To bring down a Trossard Diagonal Ball, the crowd made wild before the teenager crashed a shot over the bar.

Gabriel Gudmundson had another dribble to the right in all sorts of difficulty.

He then won a penalty in the stop time when Stach caught him on his toe to complete an exciting cameo. Just to repeat, this boy is fifteen.

Myles Lewis-Skelly (for Calafiori 64): 7

The two clean sheets and attacking returns from Calafiori in the first two games means that you can hardly argue with Arteta's team selection, but Arsenal looks blessed with left with Lewis-Skelly who compete for a start.

Crithian Mosquera (for wood 64): 6

Op for man-of-the-match wood for his Gunners Bow.
